One For Everyone
For centuries now, amusement parks entertained people who loved thrills. They had rides that vary from slow and calm to rides that are fast and intense.
Not every ride is suited for everyone. If a rider suffered from motion sickness, the fast spinning rides are not for them. “Every time I ride a quick spinning ride I feel sick, and I want to throw up,” said Junior Jeff Santry. Spinning rides vary in intensity from rides such as the teacups in Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom to rides that used centrifugal motion to keep riders in place. Depending on the personality of the rider, they may or may not enjoy riding fast roller coasters. “I love riding roller coasters because they are thrilling, but sometimes they are way too fast for me,” said Sophomore Julia Schuerle. Roller coasters are as large as 460 feet high or as small as 50 feet high. Once kids reached the age of about 8 they found they were too old to ride the slower rides also known as kiddie rides. “ Slow rides are not thrilling enough for me, I would rather go on huge roller coasters that go really fast,” said Sophomore Nicole Torchio. Unlike Nicole, some people rather ride a nice calming ride instead of high impact, thrilling rides. Depending on the type of day it is, some people wanted to go on a water ride. Water rides vary from large hills to calm drenching rides. “If it was cold outside or raining I would not want to go on a water ride,” said Sophomore Mike Soff. The only time most people liked to go on water rides was when it was extremely sunny or hot outside. By: Courtney Smore |
